BOSTON – The 2017 season opener for Suffolk women's golf will dual as a historic day for Suffolk Athletics as the Rams will hosts its first-ever women's golf match Sunday, Sept. 10 at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts, versus Rhode Island College. Tee time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk boasts just one Ram from the inaugural women's golf squad in Aine Dillon. McKenzie McGrath, a Suffolk softball standout, takes her talents to the links in the fall, while Nicole Antonucci, Brooke Champman, Olivia Spiega and Iselle Ventura will each make their debuts as Suffolk student-athletes this season. 

THE COURSE
Brookmeadow Country Club is a championship 18-hole public golf course. The par 72 course offers an interesting and challenging golf experience. 

Suffolk will be taking the green at Brookmeadow Country Club for the first time in the program's young history. 

THE COMPETITION
Rhode Island College will also be lifting the lid on its 2017 campaign Sunday. 

Similar to the Rams, the Anchormen boast a young squad with Jean Marie Arnold the lone veteran on RICs roster. 

The Anchormen are coming off a 2016-17 season that saw them tally two victories including the head-to-head meeting with the Rams. 

SEASON OPENERS
In just its second varsity season, Suffolk has met Rhode Island College in each of its season openers. The Anchormen took home the W last season, outscoring the Rams, 424-504.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Next weekend, Suffolk will compete at the William Smith Invitational. The two-day tournament will be played at Clifton Springs Country Club in Clifton, New York.
