BOSTON – Suffolk women's golf second full season is stacked with five events highlighted by the Empire 8 Championships, head coach Jay Parker released Monday afternoon.
The Rams' women's golf program got underway under Parker's guidance in 2016 on a historical day in Suffolk annals as it faced off with the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College in its first varsity match. The 2017 opener is no different for the blue-and-gold as it is set to take the green versus RIC in its second season debut Saturday, Sept. 10. The first event of 2017 comes on the heels of the Rams Glow Golf Tournament Friday, Sept. 9. For more information on the event or to sign-up, click here.
Suffolk will then travel to Clifton Springs, New York, to participate in the two-day William Smith Invitational Sept. 16-17, before traveling to South Hadley, Massachusetts the next weekend for the Mt. Holyoke Invitational (Sept. 23-24).
A head-to-head versus Westfield State at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts, Friday, Oct. 6 will prep Suffolk for its first-ever championship contest, the Empire 8 Championships. The Rams will vie for the conference crown Oct. 14-15 in Albany, New York.
The fall portion of the Rams' schedule wraps up versus Johnson & Wales Oct. 21.
