BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball starts its quest for the Commonwealth Coast Conference crown Tuesday, Feb. 20 as the fourth-seeded Rams welcome fifth-seed Endicott to Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for a 7 p.m. first round matchup.

RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk has never missed a league tournament since 1995-95 and makes its 28th consecutive trip, third straight CCC postseason appearance Tuesday night. 
  • The Rams enter the postseason as the fourth seed for the first time since 2022, second time in the CCC and ninth-time overall. 
  • Suffolk is 5-8 in a league tournament as the fourth seed. 
  • In the CCC tourney, the Rams are 0-1 as the fourth seed. 
  • The Rams have never advanced from the first round of the CCC Tournament. 
  • The blue-and-gold will be the host in the first round of the CCC Tournament for the first time since 2022 and second time overall.

LAST TIME OUT
Amanda DeAngelis and Lauren Romito were responsible for 59 percent of the Rams offensive output to anchor Suffolk women's basketball to a 76-66 win over Curry Saturday afternoon at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The upperclassmen twosome scored 45 of the blue-and-gold's 76 total points, including 15 of the 25 in the fourth quarter.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk wrapped up the regular-season 19-6 overall and 12-4 in CCC contests after besting Curry 76-66 Saturday. The Rams are 10-2 at Smith Court this season. The last time Suffolk lost in the friendly confines of the baseman of the Ridgeway Building was Dec. 2, 2023.  

Amanda DeAngelis and Lauren Romito are two of the biggest offensive and defensive threats in the league. DeAngelis averages a double-double with team-best numbers of 17.8 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. Romito, meanwhile, tallies 13.5 points and 9.3 boards per game, to go along with a conferece-best 4.1 blocks per contest. Jordan Moreau chips in 10.1 points per game and Colby Guinta adds 9.5 points per outing. 

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott rides a two-game win streak into Tuesday's first round tangle. The Gulls took down Curry, 81-63, and Gordon, 94-82, in that span. 

Sarah Dempsey is the top threat for the Gulls with 19.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Emma Shinney (10.9 ppg), Cora Nadeau (10.2 ppg) and Libby Fleming (10.1 ppg) a compliment the junior forward on the offensive end. Fleming is a threat on the boards as well with 8.6 rpg to her credit.  

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk swept Endicott in the pair of regular-season battles, both of which went into overtime. In Boston in December, the Rams edged the Gulls, 71-64. In January in Beverly, the blue-and-gold got by Endicott, 82-76.
