Women’s Basketball Meets Emerson Monday

BOSTON – The Suffolk women's basketball team is set for midday action Monday, Nov. 12 as the Rams will make the short walk across Boston Commons for a 1 p.m. non-conference clash at Emerson.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's basketball hit a scoring lull and Western New England took advantage to come back and take down the rams, 66-58, in both team's season opener Saturday afternoon inside a standing-room only Regan Gymnasium.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk dipped to 0-1 on the season after falling in its season debut, 66-58, to Western New England Saturday. 

Jenni-Rose DiCecco powered the offense in game one with 22 points with the sophomore standout shooting at a 40 percent clip from the floor (8-20). Alexis Hackett pitched in on both ends of the hardwood in the season opener with a 13-point, six-board performance. Gabriella DeComo also led a hand to the offense and defense with eight points and six caroms, respectively, while Shannon Smith and Natalie Fraioli each adding six points apiece.  

LIONS LOOK
Emerson lifted the lid on its 2018-19 slate with a 71-42 victory at Gordon last Thursday.  

The Lions saw a well-balanced attack with a quartet of student-athletes in double figures led by Natalie Busch's 15. Charlie Boyle contributed 14 on an impressive 6-for-9 showing from the floor with Natalie Clydesdale producing 13 points and seven boards. Ashley Toner rounded out the foursome with 13 points off the bench. Quinn Madden paced the pack on the glass with eight caroms to go with seven points. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

• The Rams boast a 21-7 record versus Emerson all-time. 
• Suffolk picked up the last meeting between the Boston rivals a year ago, 74-67.
