DiCecco Grabs Fifth GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – In six active weeks of the Suffolk women's basketball season, Jenni-Rose DiCecco has been recognized by the conference as GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week on multiple occasions and picked up her fifth such honor Monday afternoon after an impressive New Year opening performance. 

The floor general from Falmouth, Massachusetts, anchored Suffolk's attack that saw all 12 Rams on roster score at least one hoop in a 99-47 win offensive onslaught of Pine Manor Saturday afternoon. DiCecco poured in her ninth double digit effort this season and fifth consecutive contest with 19 points, dished out a career-high nine assists and pulled down seven rebounds. 

DiCecco has been a consistent contributor for the Rams this season with the freshman leading the way offensive with 16.0 ppg to go along with 5.6 rpg, 4.5 apg and 2.2 spg. 

The award marks the fifth by the conference and sixth overall DiCecco with the 5-6 guard also bringing home NEWBA Rookie of the Week recognition Dec. 4. Overall, Suffolk has collected nine weekly awards this season including Georgia Bourikas being named USBWA National Player of the Week Dec. 12. 

DiCecco and the Rams return to action Thrusday, Jan. 11 when they make the trip to Anna Maria for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off.
