BOSTON – Thanks to its offensive onslaught victory over Saint Joseph's (Brooklyn), Suffolk women's basketball will play for the crown of the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament Saturday afternoon as the Rams take on tournament hosts Ramapo at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Center.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's basketball team collected its first win of the 2017-18 season in scoring fashion as the Rams rolled over Saint Joseph's (Brooklyn), 90-45, to open action at Ramapo's Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament Friday evening at the Bradley Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk slipped in its season opener, 52-50 at Salve Regina, but righted the wrong Friday night with a 90-45 victory over Saint Joseph's (Brooklyn) to move to 1-1 on the season. 

Jenni-Rose DiCecco has made the most of her collegiate debut as the freshman floor general has produced double figures in each of Suffolk's games to average a team-best 15.5 ppg. The guard is shooting 65.0 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from behind the arc. Georgia Bourikas is second on the team with 12.0 ppg, while Shannon Smith is also averaging double digits with 10.0 ppg. 

Alexis Hackett paces the Rams on the glass with 9.5 rpg with Jordan Hipwell and Gabriella DeComo adding 6.5 rpg and 4.5 rpg, respectively.

ROADRUNNER REVIEW
Ramapo improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating York in the semifinal of the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament Friday night. 

The Roadrunners have a well-balanced offense paced by Tia Solomon's 9.5 ppg. Jessica Repasy (9.0 ppg) and Jenna Harsh (8.5 ppg) add to the effort. Solomon also leads the way defensively with 10.5 rpg with Repasy and Hannah Cambel each providing 6.5 rpg.

THE SERIES
Suffolk and Ramapo met once before in the championship of the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament in 2012. The Roadrunners edged the Rams, 60-58, to own the lone victory in the all-time series.

RECORD WATCH
Georgia Bourikas looks to stamp her name in the Rams' record book this season. The senior is just 255 points shy of the coveted 1,000-point milestone. The guard from Hull, Massachusetts, also looks to move her current fourth-place standing on the all-time treys made list with 107 up, while she also has the chance to seal up spots on the all-time assists (158) and blocks (29) list.
