Rourke Ropes in Fourth GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Katelyn Rourke brought home her fourth GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week accolade of the season as the freshman notched 11 points and six rebounds in the Rams' regular-season finale over Emmanuel Saturday.

Rourke, a Watertown, Massachusetts, product, shot 40 percent from the field (4-10) and 3-for-4 at the charity stripe to produce a team-high 11 points for the Rams in a 79-53 setback to the Saints. In a reserve performance, the rookie pulled down six caroms, four on the offensive end, to go along with two handouts and one steal.

The weekly honor is the fourth for Rourke this season and 10th overall for Suffolk women's basketball with classmate Alexis Hackett taking home the award on six occasions. The blue-and-gold hold 10 of the league's 12 best rookie over a seven-day stretch nods this season.

Rourke and the Rams return to action as the South's third seed in the GNAC Quarterfinals traveling to Norwich, who enters the eight-team field as the North's second seed, Tuesday, Feb. 21. The contest at Andrews Hall is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip.
