BOSTON – Coming off its fifth straight win, the Suffolk women's basketball team treks to Northfield, Vermont, Monday, Jan. 17 for a 7 p.m. GNAC game at Norwich.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's basketball team kept its 2017 portion of its schedule unbeaten as the Rams knocked off their fifth straight opponent, as the blue-and-gold defeated Mount Ida, 81-50, in GNAC action Saturday afternoon inside Regan Gymnasium.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Off to its best second semester start since the 2007-08 season when the Rams strung six straight wins together to open up January 2008, the blue-and-gold takes a 10-5 overall mark and 5-1 league ledger to North Country. 

Suffolk has been firing on cylinders as of late for the second-strongest offense in the league with 67.7 ppg. Georgia Bourikas and Kelsey Schiebel continue to be the main factors for the Rams on the offensive end with the seniors leading the way with 10.8 ppg and 10.3 ppg, respectively. 

The Rams rebounds are also second in the conference at 45.5 rpg, good for a 8.1 margin over opponents. Caitlyn Caramello paces the pack on the glass with 7.3 rpg, good for ninth in in the league, with freshman Katleyn Rourke contributing 7.1 rpg to the effort. 

CATCH UP ON THE CADETS
Thanks to wins over St.  Joseph (Conn.) (68-48) and Simmons (60-54), Norwich brings an 8-5 season record and 4-2 GNAC mark into Monday night. 

The Cadets are in the lower half of the league in scoring (55.9 ppg), but excel in rebounds, grabbing the third most among the conference with 42.6 rpg, an 8.5 margin against opponents. Heather LeBlanc stands out for Norwich on both ends of the hardwood leading the Cadets in points (15.9 ppg) and boards (9.2 rpg). Kayla Mercer adds double figures to the offensive effort with 10.5 ppg. 

THE SERIES
Suffolk commands the all-time series versus Norwich, 19-8, including two wins over the Cadets last season that stretched the blue-and-gold's win streak against its GNAC counterpart to seven.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Suffolk's freshman class has dominated the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week as of late with the Rams taking the last four weekly accolades. Overall, Alexis Hackett, who garnered the honor three times including back-to-back honors Dec. 12 and Jan. 3, and Katelyn Rourke, who picked up her first collegiate nod Dec. 5, have taken home 80 percent (4-5) of the conference's best rookie over a seven day stretch accolades this season.

BEST ROOK IN NEW ENGLAND
After collecting her second GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week accolade Dec. 12, Alexis Hackett added more hardware to her growing collection as the freshman was named New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week the same day the association announced.
