Rourke Picks Up GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week Nod

BOSTON – For the second straight week, the GNA Corvias Rookie of the Week is a member of the Suffolk women's basketball team as Katelyn Rourke received the honor for the first time in her collegiate career, the league office announced Monday morning.

In a three-game week, Rourke averaged 5.7 ppg and 7.3 rpg. The freshman forward put in her best performance of the week in the Rams convincing 92-46 win at Wentworth. She scored 12 points, shooting 71.4 percent (5-7) from the floor and grabbed six boards. In her inaugural GNAC contest, the Watertown, Massachusetts, local pulled down six caroms to go along with two points and concluded the three-game week with three points and 10 boards, including seven on the defensive end, versus Framingham.

Rourke is the second Suffolk player to garner a conference weekly accolade following classmate's Alexis Hackett first collegiate honor last week when the forward was named the league's best rookie over a seven day stretch.

Rourke and the Rams return to action Wednesday, Dec. 7 when they entertain Johnson & Wales at 7:15 p.m.
