BOSTON – The Suffolk women's basketball team will look to snap its two-game skid Saturday as the Rams welcome the Lasers of Lasell to Regan Gymnasium for a 1 p.m. GNAC game.

DOUBLE DIP
For the fourth time this season, the Suffolk basketball teams will take part in a double feature with the men's squad tipping things off at 11 a.m. against Anna Maria, before the women's team hosts Lasell at 1 p.m.

Taking on its second conference opponent in as many days, the Suffolk women's basketball team was bested by Saint Joseph's College, 68-50, Monday afternoon at the Harold Alfond Center. 

The Rams used its backcourt for its top offense as Alexandra Nagri led the way with 14 points and Kelsey Schiebel and Georgia Bourikas added nine and seven, respectively.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS

  • Looking for its second conference win of the season, Suffolk brings a 9-7, 1-2 GNAC record back to Regan Gymnasium Saturday.
  • A pair of upperclassmen have been the difference for the Rams on the offensive end of the hardwood with Chelsea Campellone pacing the pack with 12.9 points per game, which lands 13th in the league. The senior boasts the 19th-best shooting percentage from the field (40.6) and has been a consistent threat at the free throw line with a 69.7 connection rate. Classmate Alessandra Quadri is second on the team with 11.4 points per game, while Georgia Bourikas is the Rams' threat from deep, providing 9.8 points per outing.
  • Defensively, Suffolk pulls down the second-best rebounds per game with 46.8, out rebounding its opponents by a 4.3 margin. Campellone leads the way on the glass with the fifth-highest boards per game amongst the GNAC with 9.8. Sophomore Caitlyn Caramello and Quadri, meanwhile, contribute 6.6 and 6.1 rebounds per contest, respectively.

LASERS ON LASELL

  • Lasell fell to 9-8 on the season with an 84-42 setback to Framingham State Thursday night. In GNAC action, the Lasers are 2-2, after defeating Anna Maria (54-46) and Norwich (74-72) and falling to Emmanuel (81-54) and Saint Joseph's College (64-34).
  • Katie Stopera is one of two Lasers in double figures as the guard is second in the league in scoring at 18.3 ppg. The senior is shooting 35.5 percent from the field, but ranks first in the conference in turnovers with 65 (3.8 per game).
  • Deanna Barrett is Lasell's second leading scorer at 12.2 ppg. Stoper and Barrett each add a team-best 2.8 assist per game to the Lasers' offense.
  • As a whole, Lasell is averaging 57.3 ppg this season, while allowing 61.5 ppg. The Lasers have shot 32.7 percent from the floor, 25.4 percent from three and are shooting 70.0 percent at the line. Lasell is being outrebounded by its opponents by a 5.6 margin.

HOME SWEET HOME
Suffolk is 6-3 when playing under the lights of Regan Gymnasium, averaging 67.8 points and 51.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 37.2 (2220-592) on the Larry E. Smith and Michael S. Smith floor. Beyond the arc the Rams put up a 36.0 connection rate (50-139) and shoot 65.6 percent (120-183) from the line in front of the home crowd.

Chelsea Campellone averages a double-double (16.8 ppg, 11.5 rpg) in the friendly confines of Regan, while Alessandra Quadri (11.9), Kelsey Schiebel (10.3) and Georgia Bourikas (10.0) also notch double figures.
