Women's Basketball Soars Past Falcons, 66-30

BOSTON, Mass. - The Suffolk women's basketball team cruised to a 66-30 victory in non-league action on Thurday evening over the Fitchburg State University Falcons at the Regan Gymnasium.

Four players finished with double digit scoring totals for the Rams, including senior Chelsea Campellone who recorded her second double-double of the season leading all players with 16 points and also 13 rebounds. Senior Alessandra Quadri helped pace the Suffolk (4-2) offense scoring 10 of her game's 12 points in the first half as Suffolk took a 37-13 lead after the opening 20 minutes of play. Junior Georgia Bourikas chipped in with 13 points off the bench, while also picking up a game-high five steals in the contest. Suffolk forced a total of 29 Falcons' turnovers which they translated into 19 points in the victory. Sophomore Alexandra Nagri added 10 points, while junior Kelsey Schiebel collected eight points and had a game-high five assists.

Suffolk was able to hold Fitchburg State (0-9) to just nine made field goals over the forty minutes of action.

Senior Stephanie Leveilee finished with a team-high eight points on 3-for-5 shooting from the field for the Falcons. Sophomore Michaela McTomney finished with a team-high nine rebounds.

The setback leaves the Falcons winless in their first nine contest of the season.

Suffolk travels to Framingham State University for a 1:00pm tipoff with the Rams.
