Alyssa Williamson enters her second year as a Graduate Assistant in the Suffolk Athletic Department in 2019 where she will assist Jacyln Davis on the softball staff. On top of her coaching responsibilities Williamson will also aid the department in student-athlete academic support.

In her first season working with the softball team, the Rams secured a spot in the GNAC  postseason after going 11-5 versus conference counterparts. In the playoffs, Suffolk fell in teh seocnd round to end the year 21-18 overall. Six Rams were recognize for their individual performances by the leauge to tie the program record of honors. Jaclyn Flint highlighted the group with a first-team nod with Kelly Keane and Caitlin Murphy each garnering second-team spots and Grace BoehlerKennedy Reyes and Ashley Zulla all picking up third-team accolades.  

Williamson comes to Suffolk after completing a career at Merrimack College, where she graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Criminology. While Merrimack, Williamson competed for the Warriors as a stand out first baseman, and helped the squad to the NCAA East Region Final and a program-leading 35 wins in 2017. 

Over three seasons on the diamond with the Warriors, Williamson accrued 151 hits and 67 RBIs. Along the way she collected multiple milestone and accolades including NE 10 all-conference nods, NFCA All-Region status and DII CCA All-East Region honors. Not only did she shine on the field, but also in the classroom and was recognized for such with two CoSIDA Academic All-American and a pair of CoSIDA Academic All-District as a junior and senior, respectively. 

Following her graduation from Merrimack, Williamson took a full-time role at Sweetser, a non-profit behavioral healthcare organization, as a Youth and Family Counselor. In that position she was responsible for working with troubled youth, providing direct care as a mentor, cook, role model, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.

While at Suffolk, the Scarborough, Maine native will be furthering her education with a Master’s Degree in Counseling.
