Southern Maine Shutouts Softball, 6-0

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk had a chance to score in the second as it chucked the bags with a single from Ella Turnbull and walks by Lily Newhall and Becky Zellin. The Rams were stranded there though as Maddie Southers went down swinging.

Both sides went three-up, three-down in the third, before Southern Maine capitalized on Rams misplays in the fourth to grab a 2-0 edge.

The Huskies pushed the margin to five with three runs on one walk and three hits in the fifth and a two-out solo shot by Abby Miner in the sixth extend the deficit to six.

The Rams managed to poke a base hit in the sixth and seventh, respectively, but could not produce runs around them to remain off the scoreboard.
