Gordon Handles Softball in Game 2

WENHAM, Mass. – Suffolk softball dropped its nightcap at in Wenham, Massachusetts, as Gordon ran past the Rams, 16-1, in five-innings in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 1 | Gordon 16
RECORDS: Suffolk (3-12, 2-2 CCC) | Gordon (11-13, 1-3 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Maddie Southers
led off the game with a double to left field. Lily Gustafson laid down a bunt to move the runner over into time to score on Savannah Scripter's single through the right side to give Suffolk an early 1-0 edge.

It was all Fighting Scots from there as they put up six in the home half of the inning to take the advantage 6-1.

The Rams had a chance to make up ground in the second, but stranded the bases loaded instead. Gordon extended its advantage to six in the home half of the inning and made it a lopsided 13-1 score after three innings.

The host added three more in the fourth to make it 16-1.

Suffolk had a lot of ground to make up to keep things going and got two Rams on, but they would be kept there as Gordon got the final few outs to lock up nightcap win.
