Softball Shutout in Five Innings in Nightcap Against Endicott, 9-0

EAST BOSTON – Suffolk softball's bats never got going and Endicott figured the Ram's pitchers out late to keep the blue-and-gold off the scoreboard in a 9-0 decision Saturday afternoon at East Boston Memorial Park.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Endicott 9
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-11, 3-5 CCC) | Endicott (4-0, 4-0 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Zeros went on the board over the first two frames before Endicott got the ball rolling in the third. The Gulls got two runs on a sac fly from Katie Watts, that scored Christina Nowicki, who led off with a double to left field. A single from Adrianna Favreau plated Carly Marchitto two batters later to give the visitors a two-run edge.

The next inning Endicott doubled its advantage. Meghan Connor homered to center field and Lauren Misiaszek came in with her after opening the frame with a hit of her own, a single, to make it a 4-0 game.

All was put away in the fifth. Back-to-back bombs from Misiaszek and Connor, respectively, started things off before a two-RBI single by Watts turned on the run-rule.

Rebecca Gonzalez single up the middle would not be enough for the Rams to erase the mercy-rule and the game was called after five frames.
