RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk found its grove offensively and defensively at just the right time, when CCC started, to head into the twinbill 4-6 overall and 2-0 against conference competition.
Four different bats have barreled double-digits hits through 10 games this season. Ashley Zulla leads the way at the dish with 16 hits on a .485/.541/.727 slash line. The senior catcher also leads the way in RBI with 15 to go along with eight runs scored. Ally Cifaratta has contributed 14 hits, 11 RBI and nine runs scored with Caitlin Murphy (13 H, 12 R, 8 SB) and Leina Belog (10 H, 8 RBI, 5 R) rounding out the quartet.
Constance Phelan and Kennedy Reyes have provided a one-two punch in the circle. Reyes holds a 2.68 ERA with 27 strikeouts through 31.1 innings including two complete games and one shutout. Phelan, meanwhile, brings in a 2.76 ERA with 15 punchouts over 25.1 frames. Both of Suffolk's starters hold two wins apiece.
FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon has been sidelined since its 2021 opener, a doubleheader against Eastern Nazarene March 13. The Fighting Scots fell to the Lions in each of those meetings to head into Wednesday 0-2 on the year.
Offensively, Gordon has yet to score a run this season and has been limited to just 10 hits. Kristen Brown, Laura Bieren and Lily Rivera each have two hits to lead the Fighting Scots offense.
Bieren and Mara Little look to be the starting twirlers for Gordon. Bieren brings in a 2.63 ERA and two Ks through 5.1 innings, while Mara boasts a 9.33 ERA with one strikeout in 6.0 frames of work. Brown came out of the pen for 1.2 scoreless innings of relief.
