BOSTON – Suffolk softball will wrap up the 2019 regular-season with three double features over three days beginning Thursday, April 25 at Anna Maria. The Rams will then take a day off before trekking to Saint Joseph's (Maine) Saturday, April 27 before things conclude on the blue-and-gold's home diamond in Eastie against Johnson & Wales Sunday, April 28.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk softball used extra-base hits to rally and take down Albertus Magnus, 7-2, in the nightcap of a GNAC double feature Tuesday night at the Shea Softball Complex.

RAMS RUNDOWN
With six games remaining on its calendar, Suffolk (17-14) looks to add to its 7-3 league ledger and secure a spot in the upcoming 2019 GNAC Tournament. 

Caitlin Murphy's offensive output has powered the Rams at the plate as the rookie bats .432 with 38 hits, 11 RBI, 25 runs scored and 21 stolen bases. Jaclyn Flint is a consistent contributor at the plate with the senior batting .417 and team-leading numbers in hits (40) and RBI (24) to go along with 16 runs scored.  

Kennedy Reyes has recorded a staff-low 3.00 ERA in her first collegiate campaign. The freshman twirler has given up 30 earned runs over 70.0 innings of work off 67 hits with 38 punchouts. Hannah DelCervo(52.1 IP, 5.35 ERA, 30 K) and Constance Phelan (52.0 IP, 5.65 ERA, 28 K) are also in Suffolk's starting rotation. 

AMCATS ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Anna Maria has fallen in three in a row to dip to 3-18 on the year and 0-10 against conference competition.  

The quartet of Sabrina Carreira, Michelle Cilley, Victoria Falco and Ashely Garcia have been responsible for the bulk of the AMCATs offense. Carreira anchors the pack with 25 hits off a .463 connection rate that has brought in eight runs and scored 13. Falco's 20 hits have brought in 12 runs with the senior scoring six herself. Cilley sits second on the squad in hits (22) and runs (16), while Garcia completes the foursome with 19 hits and 17 runs scored. 

When it comes to pitching, Anna Maria's staff has combined for an ERA of 11.01 with 45 strikeouts. Falco (54.2 IP, 21K) is the most experienced arm for the AMCATs. The senior gets help from Garcia (23.2 IP, 12K) and Mackenzie Morin (18.0 IP, 8K).

  • Suffolk is unbeaten, 14-0, all-time versus the AMCATs. 
  • The Rams have run-ruled Anna Maria in four straight outings, all in five innings.

MONKS MENTIONABLES
Saint Joseph's (Maine) heads into its final weekend of conference competition at 10-17 on the season and 8-4 versus league opponents, one game behind the Rams (7-3).  

A pair of everyday hitters have knocked 29 hits in Melodie Bailey and Libby Pomerleau with the pair each scoring 19 runs as well. Bailey, who is hitting .362, has brought in 15 runs, while Pomerleau has plated 11. Madisyn Charest, meanwhile, is the only hitter batting over .400 at .406. Her 26 hits are responsible for 13 RBI and the outfielder has scored a team-high 22 runs.  

The Monks cycle through a pair of arms; Kate Whitney and Caitlyn King. In 75.2 innings, Whitney has put together an ERA of 4.63 with 37 strikeouts, while King, who has worked 75.1 frames, holds a 6.23 ERA with 28 Ks.

  • Suffolk has rattled off four straight wins over Saint Joseph's (Maine) including an extra-inning, walk-off over the Monks in the 2018 GNAC Tournament to move to 15-19 in the all-time series versus SJC.

WILDCAT WAYS
Johnson & Wales, the four-time defending GNAC Champion, most recently split with No. 13 MIT, to move to 18-16 on the season. Prior to visiting the Rams Sunday, the Wildcats, who are 9-3 in the league, will entertain Emmanuel Saturday.   

Meghan Gavin and Ally Mishol are the backbones to JWU's bats. Gavin, who is batting .327, has brought in 20 runs on 37 hits and scored 23 times. Mishol has produced 35 hits with a .350 average and has 19 RBI and runs scored, respectively. Megan Antaya has added a spark to the Wildcats offense with 29 hits, 23 runs scored, 14 RBI and 14 stolen bases. 

Kristin Frost is JWU's number one arm. Through 70.2 innings, the junior has sat down 64 batters and boasts a 2.08 ERA. Summer Ramundo is also a go-to twirler for the Wildcats with 59.1 innings of work under her belt for a 4.01 ERA and 45 Ks.

  • Suffolk fell in a pair of GNAC tournament tilts to Johnson & Wales to move to 20-23 versus the Wildcats all-time. 
  • The Rams last defeated JWU March 29, 2018 by a 6-1 decision.
