Murphy Tabbed GNAC Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Caitlin Murphy of the Suffolk softball team has been recognized as the GNAC Rookie of the Week after helping the Rams to a 3-2 showing a week ago, the league office announced Monday afternoon. 

Murphy's slash line of .615/.750/.769 led a Rams' offense 30 run offense as the Abington, Massachusetts, native drove in three and scored six herself. Her quick feet on the bags saw the freshman swipe nine bases in 10 attempts, while her glove was perfect in centerfield with seven putouts and two assist in nine total chances.

 The honor marks the second for Murphy this season as she was first tabbed the best rookie over a seven day stretch by the conference March 25. 

Murphy and the Rams are set for the final week of the regular season which features four conference twinbills over five days. First up for the blue-and-gold is a two-game bout with Albertus Magnus, tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23 at East Boston Memorial Park at 4 p.m.
