BOSTON – Suffolk softball's weekend slate is full of GNAC competition as the Rams welcome Norwich to East Boston Memorial Park Saturday, April 13 before venturing to Saint Joseph (Conn.) the following day, Sunday, April 14. Both conference clashes are scheduled for 12 p.m. contests.

LAST TIME OUT
Back-to-back bombs in the bottom of the seventh forced free softball where Suffolk took care of business defensively to set-up the walk-off style victory as a one-run single from Ashley Zulla pushed the Rams over Becker, 7-6, in the eight-frame nightcap of a non-league outing at Russell Field.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk's split with Becker put the Rams at 12-10 on the year. Against league foes, meanwhile, Suffolk remains unbeaten after sweeping Rivier both in one-run decisions April 6.
Caitlin Murphy has been a staple in the line-up as the blue-and-gold's lead-off hitter. The freshman centerfielder has put together a slash line of .441/.493/.542 and boasts team-best numbers in hits (26), runs scored (15) and stolen bases (8).
Jaclyn Flint has picked up the pace in the field, at the plate and in the circle upon the Rams' return to New England. The senior sports a .348 batting average, sits second on the squad in hits (23) and leads the way in RBI (15). On the rubber, she brings in a 2-0 mark with one complete-game and one save to her credit with nine punchouts. Kennedy Reyes has proven herself as the Rams' ace this season. The rookie RHP has scattered 31 punchouts over 44.0 innings in 12 appearances and seven starts with a 3.82 ERA to her credit.
CADETS CATCHUP
Norwich swept Anna Maria and slipped to Saint Joseph's (Maine) in both outings to head into the weekend with a 2-2 league ledger and an even 8-8 overall mark.
Three everyday hitters have eclipsed the 20-hit mark anchored by Dara Kelly's 23 off a slash line of .418/.484/.600. The freshman outfielder has scored a team-high 17 runs and brought in 13 herself. Madison Miller and Katie Ried have each provided 21 hits. Reid, who is hitting .488, has plated a squad-best 16 runs, while Miller has tallied 10 runs scored and eight RBI.
The Cadets cycle through three arms in the circle. Emily Oliver is the most experienced twirler with 65.1 innings of action under her belt in which she built a 3.21 ERA and has fanned 33 strikeouts. Brittany Vandergroef is the other Norwich starter. She boasts an ERA of 5.32 with 25 punchouts. Adele Cousland rounds out the staff and holds a 7.60 ERA and has sat down three batters.

BLUE JAYS BREAKDOWN
St. Joseph (Conn.) has rattled off five straight victories to head into the weekend 14-12 on the year and 3-1 against conference competition. Prior to hosting the Rams Sunday (April 14), the Blue Jays will visit Lasell Saturday (April 13).
Amaria Sharon is the true threat at the dish as the junior, who is hitting at a .489 clip, has 43 hits for 12 RBI and has scored 20 times. Kara Klimaszewski and Isabella Russo are also potent at the plate. On a .338 average, Klimaszewski has recorded 27 hits, 13 RBI and 22 runs, while Russo boasts a .333 batting average for 21 hits, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.
Sharon's spark at bat carries into the pitching circle. She anchors the four-man staff with a 2.53 ERA and 50 strikeouts over 12 appearances, 11 starts, and 66.1 innings total. Alessandra Milardo is also a consistent starter for USJ. She has seen 41.0 frames and brings in a 5.46 ERA and 27 punchouts to the weekend.
