BOSTON – The Suffolk softball team looks to build off its momentum from its first GNAC victory of the season as it continues its league ledger Saturday, March 31 against Anna Maria. The twin bill between the Rams and AMCATS is set to take place at Scots Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex in Providence, Rhode Island. Game one is scheduled for a 12 p.m. first pitch with game two to follow.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk softball team shook off a game one offensive onslaught by Johnson & Wales and put one of its own together in the nightcap with a season-high 14 hits to defeat the Wildcats, 6-1, to close the GNAC doubleheader at Scots Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has split every single day of competition this season to hold a 6-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark against conference competition. 

Ashley Zulla leads the way at the dish as the every-day starter owns a slash line of .424/.486/.697 behind 14 hits for seven RBI and seven runs scored. Delaney Sylvester has also knocked 14 hits on a .389 batting average to bring in six runs and score six herself. McKenzie McGrath (.393, 11 H, 3 RBI, 5 R), Payton Sylvester (.333, 11 H, 8 RBI, 6 R) and Jaclyn Flint (.316, 12 H, 6 RBI, 5 R) are also threats at the plate for the Rams. 

In the circle, Taylor Holmes has been the most successful arm on Suffolk's staff. The senior RHP sits 3-0, winning each of her starts, with a 1.62 ERA in 21.2 innings pitched and 15 strikeouts.

ABOUT THE AMCATS
Anna Maria has yet to find the win column through 12 outings this season. The AMCATS most recently were swept in a doubleheader at Rivier to sit 0-4 in league play. 

Amanda Lemire is one of two hitters batting over .400 with a team-best .450. She is second on the squad with nine hits for one RBI and three runs. Sabrina Carreira, who hits .345, leads the way with 10 hits for a team-high five RBI to go along with a trio of runs scored. Jacqueline Lapierre's bat is also a threat with the senior outfielder knocking nine hits for three RBI and scoring seven runs herself. 

The AMCATS pitching staff has seen six different pitchers take the circle. Collectively the six arms own an 11.39 ERA with Victoria Falco's 7.72 ERA leading the way. The junior also owns the most Ks with nine.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk is unbeaten 12-0 all-time versus the AMCATS. In those outings, the Rams have run-ruled Anna Maria eight times – four times in five and six innings, respectively.

Suffolk has a hectic week on the horizon with eight games over six days. A Tuesday, April 3 tilt with Brandeis will start the action off. First pitch at East Boston Memorial Park is set for 4 p.m.
