Softball Position Preview: The Staff

BOSTON – As the 2018 Suffolk softball first pitch – set for Saturday, March 10 in Clermont, Florida, versus Geneseo at THE Spring Games – looms, GoSuffolkRams.com will give Ram Nation an insider's look at each position. The first edition features Suffolk's pitchers.

Every arm on roster from last season is back, giving the Rams one of the most experienced staffs in the GNAC.

Back in blue-and-gold for the final time are Taylor Holmes and Ali Yamakaitis, who each won 12 outings a year ago. The two have been Suffolk's starting pair throughout their careers and look to make the most of their senior seasons. Yamakaitis brings back the best ERA (2.34) and strikeouts (88) over the most innings (134.2) from last season. Holmes, meanwhile, fanned 86 hitters in 119.1 innings of work for a 3.58 ERA in her junior campaign.

Positional pitcher junior Jaclyn Flint went unbeaten (5-0) inside the circle with 23 strikeouts and a 3.58 ERA to her credit.

Junior Hannah DelCervo rounds out the returning Rams, who combined for a 3.30 ERA through 46 games with 201 Ks.

With the additions of freshmen arms Constance Phelan and Payton Sylvester, Jaclyn Davis' stable will be one of the deepest in the GNAC.
