Delaney Repeats as GNAC Corvais Player of the Week

BOSTON - For the second straight week, Suffolk softball's Delaney Sylvester was recognized by the conference as the junior catcher collected GNAC Corvias Player of the Week the league office announced Monday afternoon. 

The weekly accolade, her second-ever, comes thanks to .714 (15-21) average at the plate featuring three homers, two doubles, eight runs, 10 rBI and four walks for an astounding 1.998 OPS in a perfect 7-0 week for the Rams. Sylvester, who calls Worcester, Massachusetts home, knocked a ball out of the park against Mt. Ida, Anna Maria and St. Joseph (Conn.) and had three perfect 3-for-3 efforts coming against the Mustangs, Falcons and AMCATS. 

The second consecutive honor marks the fourth time a Ram was recognized by the conference this season with arms Taylor Holmes (April 3) and Ali Yamakaits (March 13) also collecting the honor. 

Sylvester and Suffolk, who earend the third seed in the upcoming GNAC tournament, are back in action Tuesday, May 2 at Framingham State at 3 p.m.
