BOSTON – The Suffolk softball team wraps up its home slate Saturday, April 29 as it welcomes Anna Maria to East Boston Memorial Park for a 12 p.m. showdown, before capping off regular season play with the conclusion of its postponed game at St. Joseph (Conn.) Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk softball team broke open a 2-2 tie in the fifth and cruised from there to lock up a 9-3 win over Albertus Magnus at Celentano Field Thursday afternoon.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk rides a season-high seven-game win streak into the weekend that put the Rams at 21-14 on the season and 13-6 against conference competition. 

Underclassman have led the charge for the Rams at the plate. Ashley Zulla's slash line of .427/.447/.677 sits atop the everyday starters as the freshman outfielder owns 41 hits, 15 RBI and 26 runs. Jill Pulek is second on the squad in terms to average, hitting .425, with the designated played pacing the pack in hits (51) and Rbi (39) with 27 runs scored. Delaney Sylvester is also batting over .400 coming in at .407 with 44 hits, 30 RBI and 19 runs scored. 

Ali Yamakaitis leads the way for Suffolk's staff with the junior pitcher bringing in a 2.51 ERA in 103.0 innings pitched with 63 strikeouts. Taylor Holmes is also a go-to arm for Suffolk with the junior twirling owning a 3.19 ERA inside the circle through 87.2 frames sitting down a team-best 65 hitters. 

A BIT BOUT THE AMCATS
Anna Maria has dropped six straight including four by the run-rule in five innings to head into Saturday's showdown 4-24 on the year and 2-16 in league play. 

Two everyday starters put together over .300 averages at the dish. Sabrian Carreira's .343 leads the way as the sophomore third baseman has 24 hits, eight RBI and 11 runs scored. Jacqueline Lapierre joins Carreira above .300 with an average of .305 off 25 hits to produce seven RBI and the junior outfielder has scored 11 times. 

In the circle, Ally Hamelin's arm own sa 3.82 ERA through 36.2 innings with 24 Ks.  

EYES ON THE GAME

BIT BOUT THE BLUE JAYS
St. Joseph is currently in the top four mix in the GNAC standings with a 19-12 overall mark and 12-5 record against conference competition. The Blue Jays will take on regular-season GNAC Champion Johnson & Wales Saturday before facing Suffolk Sunday. 

Morgan Skoly and McKenna Driscoll average over .400 at the dish. Skoly is the squad leader in average, hitting .434, and slugging .487. The sophomore has 33 hits, seven RBI and 20 runs scored on her stat line. Driscoll (.400/.494/.569) adds 26 hits, 16 RBI and 10 runs to USJ's offense. Amaria Sharon rounds out the top hitters for the Blue Jays, knocking 38 hits, 28 RBI and 22 runs thanks to a .396 average and .563 slugging percentage.  

Sharon is the top arm for the Blue Jays with the rookie throwing nearly 150 innings. She brings a 2.09 ERA into Sunday with 90 strikeouts in 27 appearances and 21 starts. 

WHERE WE LEFT OFF
The Suffolk softball team's nightcap at St. Joseph (Conn.) was called at the bottom of the third due to inclement weather and field conditions at USJ Softball Field April 19 with the Rams leading the Blue Jays, 7-4.
