BOSTON – The Suffolk softball team makes the trip to New Haven, Connecticut, Wednesday for a Thursday tilt at Albertus Magnus. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk softball team run ruled Mt. Ida twice to sweep the GNAC twin bill Monday night at East Boston Memorial Park. The Rams grabbed game one 9-1 in six innings and used a nine-run fourth to capture the nightcap, 13-3, in five.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk is in the GNAC playoff mix with five conference contests remaining on its 2017 ledger. The Rams head to Connecticut on a four-game win streak that put them at 11-6 in league play and 19-14 on the season. 

The powerful underclassman pair of Jill Pulek and Ashley Zulla have anchored Suffolk at the dish this season. Pulek owns a slash line of .425/.450/.788 with team-high numbers in hits (8), including 23 for extra bases in 14 doubles and nine jacks, for a squad-best 38 RBI to go along with 25 runs scored. Zulla, meanwhile, brings a .420/.447/.648 stat line into Thursday's tilt as the freshman has 37 hits, 14 RBI and 24 runs scored. Delaney Sylvester adds a spark to the offense, hitting just under .400 at .396 with a slugging percentage of .653. The junior catcher owns 40 hits, 28 RBI and 17 runs scored. 

Ali Yamakaitis leads the way for Suffolk's staff with the junior pitcher brining in a 2.48 ERA in 96.0 innings pitched with 61 strikeouts. Taylor Holmes is also a go-to arm for Suffolk. The junior owns a 3.47 ERA inside the circle through 80.2 frames and 61 Ks. Jaclyn Flint has contributed both inside the circle, in the field and at the plate for Suffolk. The sophomore, who hits .309 with 16 RBI and 14 runs scored, carries a 3.76 ERA into the conference contest.  

FALCONS FACTS
Albertus Magnus has taken the diamond in one less GNAC game then the Rams to sit in second in the conference standings at 12-4. The Falcons ride a three-game win streak into Thursday's game that improved them to 24-10 on the season. 

The Falcons carry one of the best hitters in the conference in junior Gillian Fortier. The utility player boasts a .423 average, .793 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .423 with 47 hits, 42 RBI and 44 runs, all of which land among the top in the league and pace Albertus Magnus' offense. 

In the circle, Laura Anderson is the top arm. The rookie has seen 83.1 innings for an ERA of 2.44 with 48 strikeouts. Megan Ferraro's ERA also comes in sub-3.00 at 2.71 in 90.1 frames of action with 49 Ks. 

INSIDE THE SERIES
The two teams last met in last season's GNAC playoffs with the Rams taking the win, 9-5, to improve to 30-15 all-time versus the Falcons. In the regular-season twin bill against Albertus Magnus, Suffolk split, winning game one, 7-1, and falling 8-2 in the nightcap.

Suffolk wraps up the regular season this weekend as the Rams honor the playing careers of their two graduating seniors, Morgan Parmeter and Lindsay Pagano, on Senior Day, Saturday, April 29 in a 12 p.m. doubleheader against Anna Maria at East Boston Memorial Park, before finishing its postponed contest at St. Joseph (Conn.) Sunday, April 30.
