BOSTON – A day removed setting the program's homerun record, the Suffolk softball team is back in action tonight, Monday, April 24, as the Rams entertain Mt. Ida at East Boston Memorial Park. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk softball team secured a GNAC series sweep with a 50- decision over Lasell in the closer Sunday afternoon at East Boston Memorial Park.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
With the sweep over Lasell, Suffolk improved to 17-14 on the season and 9-6 against conference competition to sit in sixth place in the GNAC standings. 

The powerful duo of Ashley Zulla and Jill Pulek have been the anchors at the plate for the Rams. Zulla owns a slash line of .425/.452/.655 with 37 hits, 13 RBI and 23 runs scored. Pulek, meanwhile, hits .415 and slugs .802, producing a team-best 44 hits for 35 RBI and 23 runs scored. Delaney Sylvester adds a spark to Suffolk's line-up with the junior catcher batting .365 and slugging .604 on 35 hits for 23 RBI to go along with 15 runs scored. 

Ali Yamakaitis leads the way for Suffolk's staff with the junior pitcher owning a 2.48 ERA in 96.0 innings pitched with 61 strikeouts. Taylor Holmes, meanwhile, boasts a 3.75 ERA in 74.2 frames of work and 59 Ks.   

MUSTANGS MENTIONABLES
After being postponed on Saturday, Mt. Ida collected a pair of wins at Anna Maria Sunday, an 11-1 victory, before a 15-0 triumph, to improve to 11-16 on the season and 5-9 in league play. 

The Mustangs are hitting just .252 on the season with Hayley Microulis pacing the pack. The junior outfielder hits .375, slugs .431 and has an on-base percentage of .431 to lead the way in hits (27) and RBI (13) to go along with 11 runs scored. Lucianna Medici, who bats .277, is the team leader in runs scored with 27 to her credit with the second baseman adding 10 RBI on 18 hits. 

Nicole Handzel's 2.85 ERA is the lowest on Mt. Ida's staff as the senior has seen action in 118.0 innings, fanning 115 batters.   

INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk has taken the last nine meetings over Mt. Ida to hold a 15-3 all-time series lead. The Rams are undefeated versus the Mustangs under Jaclyn Davis guidance.
