BOSTON – The Suffolk softball team opens a six-game homestand Thursday, April 20 as Norwich comes to East Boston Memorial Park for GNAC doubleheader. Game one is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk softball team's nightcap at St. Joseph (Conn.) was called at the bottom of the third due to inclement weather and field conditions at USJ Softball Field Wednesday night with the Rams leading the Blue Jays, 7-4.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
With 13 games remaining, Suffolk sits one-game above .500 at 14-13 and 6-5 against conference competition to sit in the middle of the pack in the GNAC standings. 

Ashley Zulla is the lone every day starter hitting over .400 with the freshman coming into Thursday's tilt with a line of .446/.468/.676. The outfielder has 33 hits for 11 RBI and 20 runs scored to go with five stolen bases. Jill Pulek boasta a .394 average, leading the way on the team with 29 RBI on 37 hits and has come 18 times. Delaney Sylvester (.353/.398/.518, 30 H, 18 RBI, 12 R), Jaclyn Flint (.333/.404/.569, 17 H, 10 RBI, 8 R) and Devlin Frost (.333/.363/.469, 32 H, 17 RBI, 28 R) all average over .300 for the blue-and-gold. 

Ali Yamakaitis leads the way inside the circle for the Rams. The junior twirler's ERA comes in at 2.31 through 91.0 innings pitching with 59 strikeouts. Taylor Holmes is the other go-to starting arm for Suffolk with the junior hurler bringing a 4.29 ERA into Thursday with 63.2 innings of action and 47 Ks.  

CATCH UP ON THE CADETS
Norwich's last time out featured a series split versus Anna Maria that put the Cadets at 6-15-1 overall and 6-6 against conference competition.   

Two Cadets that have played every game this season are producing over .300 averages for the Norwich. Naomi Rinaldo's .387 leads the way and Madison Miller's .366 falls in a close second. Rinaldo sits atop the team in hits (29), RBI (15) and runs scored (14). 

Three different arms have taken the circle for Norwich this season. Sophomore Rachel Johnson has seen the most action. In 80.0 innings of work, she holds a team-best 2.98 ERA in 10 starts with an impressive 104 strikeouts. 

INSIDE THE SERIES
Despite picking up the last five victories, Suffolk trails the all-time series with Norwich, 18-17.

Suffolk is at home all weekend for two GNAC doubleheaders. Mt. Ida comes to Eastie Saturday, April 22 for Coaches vs. Cancer, before Lasell stops by Sunday. Both contests have 12 p.m. starts.
