BOSTON – Taylor Holmes of the Suffolk softball team has been named a nominee for Herosports.com DIII Softball Pitching HERO of the Week thanks to her complete-game win last week over Emerson, striking out a career-best nine batters. The nomination comes on the heels of an 8-0 win over the Lions for Holmes and the Rams. To vote for Holmes, click here. 

Holmes scattered nine Ks over seven innings of work, her second-ever complete-game in a Suffolk uniform and first full seven innings in blue-and-gold. The 8-0 shutout win marks the second for the junior, who gave up just eight-hits and four-walks in the victory. Thanks to her performance, the Ashford, Connecticut, product earned GNAC Corvias Pitcher of the Week, the first weekly accolade of her career. 

The Rams and Holmes return to action tomorrow, Thursday, April 6 when they entertain Norwich in their GNAC opener. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
