Frost Picks Up GNAC Corvias Player of the Week Nod

BOSTON – Sophomore outfielder Devlin Frost of the Suffolk softball team has been named the GNAC Corvias Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

With seven hits and a .538 batting average in four games last weekend, Frost was the hottest hitter on the Suffolk roster, helping the Rams turn in a 3-1 record. She started all nine games in right field and scored a team-leading seven runs to go along with her 15 total bases. Frost slugged 1.154 for the week and ripped a home run and double in the same game; an 8-0 win over Lasell. The Tewksbury, Massachusetts local followed that performance with a 3-for-4 showing at the plate, which included a double and triple, to go along with three RBI and three runs scored. She had three multi-hit games on the weekend and did not commit and error in the field.

Frost's stellar play helped Suffolk split against Emmanuel and sweep Lasell to improve the Rams to 12-4 overall and 3-1 against GNAC competition.

Monday's recognition of Frost marks the third weekly award of the season for Suffolk. Jill Pulek earned the year's second Rookie of the Week honor and Evelyn Marquis was tabbed the league's best rookie over a seven day stretch seven days after Pulek.

The Rams and Frost are set to return to the diamond tomorrow at Norwich for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
