Softball Rounds Out Spring Trip With Doubleheader Sweep

The Suffolk University Softball team rounded out their spring trip with their second doubleheader sweep in as many days to close out their stint in Florida winners of their final four games.

Suffolk topped Alfred State in game one by a 9-1 margin as freshman Devlin Frost (Tewksbury, Mass.) was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored, and blasted a two run homer in the first inning to lead the Rams offensively in their opener.

Frost and freshman Madison Eucalitto (Old Saybrook, Conn.) drove in runs in the third inning before Suffolk broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth scoring five more time. Junior Meredith Ball (Nahant, Mass.)  added an RBI double as she was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored while sophomore Kristen Young (Windsor, Conn.) also collected a pair of hits.

Suffolk took game two 8-1 on a complete game three hitter by senior Sarah Chasse (Salem, Mass.). Chasse struck out six hitters to collect her second win on the mound in as many days.

Suffolk put together a 12-hit attack in game two as Ball, Frost, Eucalitto and Young each had two hits a piece in the victory.

Frost opened the scoring again as she doubled home Ball who led the game off for Suffolk with a single. Eucalitto would follow them up with an RBI base hit, before freshman Delaney Sylvester (Worcester, Mass.) capped the inning off with an RBI single.

Frost would later add an RBI single in the fourth as she totaled four RBI on the afternoon before Eucalitto added some insurance with an RBI double in the sixth.

Suffolk concluded their trip to Fort Myers as they head back north to Boston at a 4-4 mark.
