Softball Collects First Two Wins of the Season

The Suffolk University Softball team collected their first two victories of the season with a 10-0 victory over Bethany Lutheran before rounding out their day with a 12-0 win over Mount Mary University in five innings.

Senior Sarah Chasse (Salem, Mass.) was 3-for-4 at the plate and scored a pair of runs while also throwing a complete game shutout on the mound in the win. Freshman Delaney Sylvester (Worcester, Mass.) drove in six runs as she connected on a three run double in the third and then belted a three run homer in the seventh inning.

Suffolk put together a 15-hit attack in game two to take a 12-0 win. Freshman Ali Yamakaitis (Avenel, N.J.) was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI while also throwing five shutout innings on the mound for her first career collegiate victory.

Sylvester was 2-for-3 in game two as she finished the day with four hits in seven at-bats.

Freshman Devlin Frost (Tewksbury, Mass.) was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and a pair of RBI. Sophomore Lindsay Pagano (Wyckoff, N.J.) and freshman Madison Eucalitto (Old Saybrook, Conn.)  each picked up two hits in game two while freshman Sydney Littlefield (Methuen, Mass.) collected three stolen bases.

Suffolk will be back in action on Friday when they round out their spring trip with a doubleheader against Alfred State and Wisconsin Lutheran beginning at 9:00am.
