Men’s Cross Country Claims Eighth at Suffolk Invite

BOSTON – In its final test before the 2023 CCC Championships, Suffolk men's cross country put together an eighth-place performance at its own meet, the Suffolk Invitational, Saturday at Franklin Park.  

The Rams combined for a 255 to be the best CCC team on the 8k course. The blue-and-gold bested Endicott (10), Wentworth (11), University of New England (17) and Curry (DNF).  

Individually, Luke Sikora paved the way for the Rams runners. The senior clocked a personal-best 26:37.8 to claim 31st in the 278-runner field.  

Jacob Dubin was the second Suffolk student-athlete through the finishers cute with his own PR of 27:04.7 to take 46th.  

Freshman Cam Fredette improved upon his 8k time with his own career-high of 27:15.7, good for 51sth. 

Connor Hayward (27:43.3) and Conor Garrity (28:44.5) each clocked their own season highs to finish 70th and 113th, respectively. 

Evan Wright rounded out the Rams point providers with a personal-record of 28:25.4 for 135th.  

Selvin Backert (30:13.1), Nico Miele (32:59.1), Michael Najarian (34:19.8), Matthew McGoldrick (35:06.5) and Kely Maloney were featured on the course as well. 

Suffolk takes next week off to prep for the 2023 CCC Championships, which are on tap for Saturday, Oct. 28 on the campus of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.
