USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk men's cross country remained seventh in the East in the latest edition of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings, the national organization announced.

The Rams held onto seventh, the highest regional rank in program history, after a week off from competition. Suffolk has not missed a regional poll since making the program debut in week one of the 2021 campaign. The blue-and-gold is the only Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) member to make the list thus far this year.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable in determining in a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member program are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.

Suffolk is on a break from competition before its own meet, the Suffolk Invitational, on tap for Saturday, Oct. 15 at Franklin Park. The race will also serve as the Battle for Boston Commons, a head-to-head friendly competition with the Rams Beantown neighbor Emerson.
