Men’s Cross Country Claims Battle for Boston Common

BOSTON – The Rams kept the Battle for Boston Common trophy on Beacon Hill as the Suffolk men's cross country cruised past Emerson, 19-44, Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park to repeat as Battle for Boston Common Champions.

In a head-to-head between the Boston Common neighbors Suffolk once again prevailed in convincing fashion. All seven Rams finished inside the top eight to take the title for the second straight year.

Matyas Csiki-Fejer set the pace as the sophomore sailed to a first-place finish with an 8K time of 26:03.7.

Emerson's freshman Oliver Glass was the lone Lion able to run with the blue-and-gold as he slid into second after crossing the line in 28:04.4.

From there it was blue-and-gold jersey after blue-and-gold jersey as Cole Bolduc (28:10.2), Elijah Dillon (28:19.5), Hunter Toyoda (28:26.0), Joseph Robinson (29:20.2), Nic Malm (29:33.7) and Arthur Lacerda (29:44.5) finished one after another to claim spots three through eight.

With the regular season wrapped up, Suffolk has its sights on GNAC glory that is up for grabs Saturday, Nov. 2 in Standish, Maine on the SJC Course.
