Men’s Cross Country Claims 15th at 47th UMass Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Suffolk men's cross country put together its highest finish on Corsairs Course in recent history as the Rams put together a 15th-place performance at the 47th UMass Dartmouth Invitational on a beautiful September Saturday.  

The Rams' finish was thanks in large part to Matyas Csiki-Fejer who was the runner-up in the field of 257. The sophomore came through the five-mile finisher's chute in 25:10.54, just under 30 seconds after Trinity's Weyessa McAlister, who claimed in the individual crown.  

Suffolk's team score of 446 behind an average time of 27:51.20, had the blue-and-gold in the middle of the 36-team pack, which was paced by team winner WPI, that saw its five scoring runners all finish inside the top 25. If you break down the team scores GNAC wise, Suffolk led its conference counterparts as the only squad to place within the top 15 with Emmanuel (24), Saint Joseph's (Maine), (28), Regis (29) and Johnson & Wales (31) placing in the lower tier of the meet.  

Guilaume Glaudel and Hunter Toyoda completed the course inside the top 100. The former claimed 87th behind a time of 27:50.33, while the latter took 99th after crossing the tape in 28:08.96.  

Cole Bolduc's time of 29:01.51 was good for 141th, while Elijah Dillon (29:04.66) was a handful of seconds behind his classmate in 146th.  

Keoni Geers (29:10.36),Ryan Buchanan (29:44.44) and Nic Malm (29:47.84) also compete on the varsity course.  

In the junior varsity division, Byron Deily (29:34.06), Joseph Robinson (29:59.54), Arthur Lacerda (30:21.48), Kevin Torres (31:25.84), Josh Smith (32:32.28), Justin Turner  (32:34.77), Ben Cvitkusic (35:09.32), and Jonah Flores (36:34.33) all wore the blue-and-gold. 

Suffolk has a weekend off before trekking back up to Keene, Hamsphire, Saturday, Oct. 5 for the Keene State College Initational.
