Men's Cross-Country Place 3rd at Gordon College Invitational

The Suffolk University Men’s Cross Country team placed third at the Gordon College Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a team total of 69 points. The Rams had six runners finish in the top 25 of the 8K race.

Freshman Erik Paine (Dartmouth, Mass.) was the top finisher with a time of 29:52 finishing in fifth place for Suffolk. Sophomore Matthew Bly (Boca Raton, Fla.) rounded out the top ten runners crossing the finish line at 31:33. Sophomore Clayton Fleener (Indianapolis, Ind.) and senior Allen Brook (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) placed 16th and 17th respectively finishing the race in just over 33 minutes, while sophomore Tim Weber (Littleton, Mass.) was 21st with a time of 37:18. Junior Davidson McGuffie (Mattapan, Mass.) was the sixth Rams’ runner to cross the finish line as he came in at 40:31.

Gordon were the winners of their own race, finishing with a team total of 20 points, while junior Brian Holahan had a course-best time of 28:09 for the Fighting Scots.

The Rams will be back on the course this weekend as they compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Invitational at St. Joseph’s (Me.) College.
