Men’s Track & Field Participates at Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field endured the humid, scattered showers on Saturday, April 20 to compete at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational at Morrison Track.  

Maytas Csiki-Fejer highlighted the 13 Rams' student-athletes who participated in the event as the freshman from Saint Louis, Missouri, ran a 1:58.57 800-meter dash to claim seventh in the 41-runner field. Classmates Jonah Flores (2:13.70) and Arthur Lacerda (2:18.11) also ran two laps around the track.  

Robert Solari and Justin Patten went once around the track in the 400-meter dash. Solari's time of 53.69 was good for 14th, while Patten claimed 20th on a 57.15 showing. Nicholas Nunez, meanwhile, went halfway around the track in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 25.01.  

In long distance races, a contingent of Suffolk competitors tried their hands in the 1500-meter run. Hunter Toyoda paced the five Rams' runners with a time of 4:25.72 for a 12th-place showing. Keoni Geers (4:29.75), Joseph Robinson (4:38.50), Nick Malm (4:39.17) and Kevin Torres (4:39.65) also ran the course.  

In fielding events, Michael Balestra put together an eight-place performance in the hammer throw with a 46.72 toss. Michael Power competed in the hsot put (10.42) and the discus throw (30.76). 

Suffolk will now turn its attention to the GNAC Championship, which it will vie for this Sunday, April 28 at Regis.
