Men’s Indoor Track & Field Pair Qualifies for Regionals at John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON – Tim Barry and Thomas Novy of the Suffolk men's indoor track & field team earned their place at NCAA Division III New England Championships in their respective events thanks to their performance at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic this weekend. In addition to the qualifying pair, five Rams set personal records across down. 

REGIONAL RAMS

  • Barry punched his ticket to New Englagnds in the 800 with a time of 1:57.17. 
  • Novy set a program-record in the 5000 of 14:49.42 en route to his NCAA New England Regional ticket. 

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Barry paced the three Rams in the 800, all of whom ran under 2:00.00. Barry topped the group and finished within the top-100 with a time of 1:57.17. Luke Sikora logged a 1:58.75 and Kely Maloney compiled a 1:59.64. 

RAMS RECORDS

  • Novy rewrote the program record in the 5k with a time of 14:49.42. 
  • Maloney became the fifth Ram in program history to run a sub-2:00.0 8 with a 1:59.64 performance in the event. 
  • Hayden Green set a PR in the 3000 with an 8:59.08. 
  • Both Cam Fredette (4:34.95) and Jadan Wenceslao (4:41.12) set career-highs in the mile.  

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk splits its talent up next weekend Feb. 2-3. Rams will return to BU for the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational, while other student-athletes in blue-and-gold take their talents up to Plymouth, New Hampshire for the the Panther Invitational II.
