WNE Ends Men’s Tennis Season, 6-3

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Suffolk men's tennis fell in its regular-season finale Monday as Western New England took down the Rams, 6-3, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Forest Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams traded doubles point as the Golden Bears got one point on the third court before Suffolk scored on court one when Nicholas Komari and Mehdi Mered defeated Nick Bayer, Brandon Greger, 8-5.  

Hasan Esrawi and Matthew Gallego slipped to Henry Runyan and Michel Abizaid Nunez, 8-7 (7-5) in the second doubles slot to put the blue-and-gold in a 2-1 hole. 

WNE singles wins at No. 4, No. 6, No. 1 and No. 3, gave the host a 6-1 advantage and sealed Suffolk's setback.  

Gallego went on to best Kyle Poccia, 6-4, 6-3, in the fifth position and Mered downed Abizaid Nunez, 2-6, 7-5, 10-7, for the 6-3 final.
