Men’s Tennis Bested by Wentworth, 8-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Suffolk men's tennis was tripped up by Wentworth as the Leopards captured the Commonwealth Coast Conference contest 8-1 Tuesday night at the DuPont Tennis Courts on the campus of MIT.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk found itself trailing 3-0 after the Leopards swept doubles play. 

Victories for WIT at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, respectively, locked up the win for the host. 

Down 6-0 after Joachim Fabre-Nair fell to Niko Rosich on the fifth singles court, Matthew Gallego put the blue-and-gold on the board with a 7-5, 0-6, 1-0 (10-6) triumph over Eric Doraci in the fourth spot. 

Mehdi Mered and Hasan Esrawi were tripped up in slots two and three, respectively, for the 8-1 final.

  • Gallego won his second straight singles match of the season. He is now 2-2 on court four.
