Endicott Bests Men’s Tennis, 8-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – Diego Hernandez-Pons became the first Ram in Suffolk men's tennis history to record a win against the Gulls, but it would not be enough to take down Endicott as the blue-and-gold fell, 8-1, Saturday at the South Campus Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Endicott doubles play with the first and third court needing a tiebreaker to decide a winner.  

The Gulls quickly locked up the win with straight set triumphs singles courts six and one in that order. 

Suffolk took the Gulls to three sets in the fifth and second spot, respectively, before Hernandez-Pons put together his win, a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 decision over James Zeolie in the fourth position.

NOTEWORTHY

  • Both matches between Suffolk and Endicott have taken place in Beverly, Massachusetts.
  • Hernandez-Pons is the first and only Ram to ever take down a Gull in program history.
