WESTON, Mass. – Suffolk men's tennis returned to GNAC competition Wednesday afternoon, but came out on the wrong side of a 7-2 decision to Regis at the Regis Tennis Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Regis quickly went ahead 2-0 with victories on doubles courts two and three, respectively. The Rams' top tandem of Mike DeFelice and Nick Vaillancourt quieted the Pride and put the blue-and-gold on the board with a thrilling 8-7 (8-6) super tiebreaker victory against Nolan Bebarta and Johnny Pallotta.
The momentum from DeFelice's and Valliancourt's double triumph was not carried into singles action, however as Regis quickly locked up the match with wins on courts three through five.
With the match already in the books for the Pride, the hosts added two more points to their score with wins in the first and sixth spot, before Vaillancourt punched through in the second slot. Similar to his doubles decision, he needed a tiebreaker to pick up a single victory as well, the only Ram to land in the win column on the day, as he defeated Bebarta, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7).
