NORTHFIELD, Vt. –The Suffolk men's tennis team found itself in the GNAC win column in its regular season conference close as the Rams rolled past Norwich, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at the Sabine Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk swept doubles action in order to grab a 3-0 lead. Ariel Ilarslan Russo and Omar Azzaoui teamed up for an 8-5 victory over Dylan Ackerman and Alexi Gilmore on court one before Mike DeFelice and Chris Parnagian downed Sam Beiter and Trip Wilson in the second slot, 9-7. Rami Esrawi and Kevin Greenman defeated Timothy Birnbaum and Noah Stillman in a super tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-4) to secure the doubles court sweep for Suffolk.  

As the match slid into singles play, Ilarslan Russo and Parnagian put back-to-back singles victories together to clinch the match for the Rams. Ilarslan Russo kept his perfect singles ledger together as the rookie bested Ackerman, 6-4, 6-2. Parnagian's 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Birnbaum in the fourth position won the match for the blue-and-gold.  

Norwich earned its only point of the afternoon in the second slot and it was all Suffolk from there with DeFelice, Esrawi and Greenman all collecting single victories for the 8-1 margin.

• Ilarslan Russo improved to 8-0 on the year exclusively as Suffolk's ace.
