Men’s Tennis Stumbles at Salem State, 7-2

SALEM, Mass. – The Suffolk men's tennis team was tripped up by Salem State, 7-2, at the Vikings Central Campus Tennis Courts Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk found itself in a 3-0 hole after the Vikings locked up all doubles points.  

The Rams picked up singles wins in the top and bottom slot, but it would not be enough as Salem State took the remaining four courts to lock up the 7-2 win. Ariel Russo Ilarslan was one of the pair of victories as the freshman defeated Salem's Andrew Muttiah, 6-3, 6-1, on court one. Rami Esrawi also marked a tally in the win column thanks to a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) win over Noah Hodgkins on court one.  

NOTEWORTHY

  • Russo Ilarslan remains unbeaten in singles play, improving to 5-0 as the Rams' ace.
