Men’s Tennis Notches First Victory, Defeats Norwich, 5-4

WINCHESTER, Mass. – The Suffolk men's tennis team wrapped up its GNAC slate Saturday afternoon on a high night as the Rams landed in the win column for the first time this season with a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Norwich Saturday afternoon at the Winchester Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk trailed 2-1 after doubles action wrapped up in order. After Cameron Roach secured a point in the second singles slot, the Cadets were one point away from sealing the victory, earning points on courts one and three, the lower half of Suffolk's line-up heated up. Jacob Duggan started the rally with Kevin Clavijo evening the playing field in three sets and Kevin Greenman securing the win with a second set tiebreaker to seal the victory in Suffolk's favor. 

SUFFOLK STANDOUTS

• Greenman locked up the win with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) match decision victory in the sixth single spot over Tim Birnbuam. He also was a part of Suffolk's doubles team that picked up a win, teaming up with Rami Esrawi on court three for an 8-2 decision over Sam Beiter and Hadley Ellis.
• Roach was the first Suffolk singles player to finish, defeating Dylan Ackerman, 6-3, 6-2, in the second spot.
• Duggan kept the match alive, besting Tyler Eagan, 6-4, 6-3.
• Clavijo set-up Greenman's match winner, defeating Beiter, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.
