Men's Tennis Ends Homestand With 8-1 Loss

BOSTON - The Suffolk men's tennis team closed out its season-opening homestand with an 8-1 loss to Emerson Saturday evening at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols.

The loss put the Rams at 2-2 on the season while the Lions (5-0) remain unbeaten.

Suffolk dropped the first two sets in doubles to start the match but the pair of Kevin Clavijo and Jose Gonzalez came back to take an 8-2 victory in the final set over Emerson's Samir Beria and Matt Jepsky. The Lions went on to sweep the Rams in singles play.

Suffolk will now head on the road for the first time this season as it travels to Roger Williams Tuesday afternoon to take on the Hawks at 4 p.m.
