The Suffolk University Men's Tennis team defeated the Norwich University Cadets, 9-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Marc Winkler (Caracas, Venezuela) won the number one singles match over Cadets junior Christian Hoskey (St. Charles, Ill.) in straight 6-3 sets.
Winkler also teamed with senior Aaron Lau (Beijing, China) for an 8-1 victory in the top doubles match as the duo picks up their second win of the season.
Lau was a winner in back to back 6-2 sets in the number two position.
Junior Drew Reilly (Boston, Mass.) and senior Dachuan Zhu (Hong Kong, China) teamed up for an 8-6 victory in doubles play. Both Suffolk players earned wins in their individual matches as Reilly took the third singles match, while Zhu was a winner in the fourth set.
Senior Vassili Stroganov (Hoersholm, Germany) was also a multiple victor on the evening as he and senior Dan Kelly (Nashua, N.H.) won the third doubles play set with an 8-3 victory, while Stroganov took the fifth singles game 6-0, 6-1.
Senior German Krohn (Olavarria, Argentina) rounded out the Suffolk score sheet with a win in the sixth singles game by consecutive 6-0 scores.
Norwich will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Lyndon State for a 3:30pm non-conference match.
Suffolk travels to Salem State University on Monday for a 3:30pm match as well.
