SALEM, Mass. – Luke Blawn's second goal in as many games put the Rams on the scoreboard, but it would not be enough as the Vikings responded to level the playing field and Suffolk men's soccer settled for a 1-1 draw with Salem state University Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first frame, Suffolk struck first in the second. Blawn regained possession for the Rams after a corner kick by Diego Pierantozzi. The sophomore wasted no time getting a shot off as it zoomed from the 15-yard line into the upper part of the net to give the blue-and-gold a one-goal edge at the 65:17 mark.
The Rams responded with just under eight minutes in regulation as Landon Picillo found the back of the net with help from Kyle Lobao.
Both teams managed to get one more shot off over the final minutes with both defenses blocked the attempts to keep the deadlock in place at the final buzzer.
KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
- Nathan Harlow had four saves in the stalemate.
- Marcelo Silva turned aside five shots in the draw.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Blawn was responsible for Suffolk's only scoring in the contest.
- Suffolk commanded the shots, 15-8, and held an edge in shots on target, 6-5.
- The Rams also took more corners, 5-2.
