Men’s Soccer Slips to Fifth in United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings

UNITED SOCCER COACHES REGION II POLL

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After suffering a pair of Commonwealth Coast Conference losses over the last two weeks, Suffolk men's soccer has dipped down to fifth in Region II in the latest regional ranking by United Soccer Coaches organization, it was announced Tuesday.

The Rams fell at Western New England, Oct. 10, and were setback by Gordon, Oct. 21, both by identical 2-1 margins. In between those losses Suffolk defeated Curry, 5-1, and shutout University of New England, 2-0, to move to 9-5-2 on the year and 4-2-1 in CCC contests, however, it would not be enough to remain second in the regional poll.

Babson (10-3-4) remains in first, WPI (7-3-6) took the second slot away from Suffolk, while Gordon (7-1-6) moved up to third. Bridgewater State (8-2-4) landed fourth ahead of the Rams.

Suffolk made its program debut in the regional ranks in the fourth spot of Poll 1, Sept. 12, 2023. Since then, Suffolk climbed its way to second, where it remained for three weeks, before securing fifth today. On top of the regional recognition this season, the Rams also received votes for three straight weeks Oct. 3-18 in the national poll.

On the verge of its third CCC post season push, Suffolk concludes the regular season tonight at Roger Williams at 7 p.m.
