Men’s Soccer Falls to Framingham State, 2-1

EAST BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer fell to Framingham State, 2-1, Tuesday night at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.  

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
Framingham State scored one goal in each half to take a two-goal lead that Suffolk had to battle back from. Kaio Santos Da Silva potted the FSU Rams first, while Gustav Hemmingsen supplied the visitors second.  

As time ticked off the clock, Carter Van Buskirk managed to eliminate the shutout as he tucked the ball past the goal line with help from TJ Maselek with 3:14 remaining in the contest.  

Time was not in the Rams favor the rest of the way as Framingham State managed to keep the host from getting another shot off the rest of the way to preserve Suffolk's setback fate.  

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Nathan Harlow logged five saves in the setback. 
  • Joseph Sturzo notched 10 saves in the victoroy.  

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Van Buskirk potted Suffolk's lone goal. 
  • Maselek recorded one assist. 
  • Suffolk outshot Framingham State, 21-12. 
  • The Rams had a 11-7 shots on goal advantage. 
  • Suffolk had seven corner kicks compared to FSU's one.
