Harlow Named CCC Defensive Player of the Week

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Nathan Harlow of the Suffolk men's soccer team scooped up a weekly award from the conference after his collegiate debut as the freshman was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Harlow's first collegiate accolade comes on the heels of Harlow's first college appearance, a complete-game, five-save 1-0 shutout over Salem State, Saturday, Sept. 2. The win came in the blue-and-gold's first outing at James A. Sartori Stadium this season, which marks Suffolk's fourth straight home-opening win. The triumph also helped the Rams lift the lid on its schedule with back-to-back victories for the second time in as many years.

The rookie from London, England is the first Ram to be tabbed the league's best defensive player in a seven-day stretch since Xander Balog did so Oct. 31, 2022. Harlow is the second Ram in the CCC era to earn the feat joining Balog on the short list. Overall, it is the fourth defensive player of the week nod in the Rams record book from the CCC.

After Harlow and the Rams downed the Vikings on Saturday, they took their talents to Babson Tuesday where Suffolk played the Beavers to a scoreless draw.

Suffolk remains on the road this upcoming weekend when it travels across town to take on Emerson in a Beantown battle Saturday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
